Pearl Harbor – Into the Arizona premieres tonight on PBS and examines the USS Arizona, which was sunk during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Back in 1941 the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japanese forces was huge surprise, and although the attack was less deadly than planned one of the many victims was the USS Arizona. Other ships were sunk, but amazingly many of these were raised, repaired and reentered service!

The attack also saw American drawn into WWII and perhaps sealed Japan’s fate.

Now 75 years later, one survivors and a group of scientists explore the wreck and see what secrets the sunken ship can reveal.
