This week’s episode of Pure Genius on CBS sees James, Walter and Talaikha look after Amelia (Laura Seay), a young lady who desperately needs a liver transplant.
However, she puts up a fight when they tell her the donor is her estranged father, Simon (Doug Savant).
But who is Laura Seay? She is an up-and-coming actress from Seattle who has had several big and small-screen roles.
One of her first roles was as the character Shirley in 2007’s Superbad, starring Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. She has also had guest roles in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and NCIS: New Orleans.
Laura is also the writer, director and producer of a short film called SPEAK, about a girl struggling to make a relationship work because of previous trauma.
This week’s Pure Genius also features a young boy whose legs are crushed after being pinned by a car. Malik wants to use a revolutionary procedure using spider silk to save the boy’s legs, while Zoe argues in favor of the safer route of amputation.
