Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine offered to pay for Christina Grimmie’s funeral, her brother has said.
Levine was the singer’s coach when she appeared on The Voice in 2014. He made the offer to Christina’s family after she was killed by a gunman following her show in Orlando on June 10.
Her brother Marcus posted an emotional message on Facebook revealing how Levine had called their mother then offered to pay for the funeral as well as a plane flight to transport her body back to her hometown of Marlton, New Jersey.
A gofundme page set up to raise $4,000 for her family had already raised more than $170,000 at the time of writing.
A change.org petition was also launched asking Nintendo to name a character after her in the forthcoming Legend of Zelda game, the series gaming fan Christina enjoyed playing the most.
