Liam Payne turns 24 today — and fans are flooding Twitter with messages wishing him a happy birthday.

The singer is currently on a sunshine holiday with partner Cheryl Tweedy after the birth of their son Bear back in March.

He yesterday posted a picture on Instagram of him doing a Superman impression out of a swimming pool.

Last week he also posted a loved-up pic of the pair, with his arms wrapped around Cheryl’s shoulders.

Now fans have taken to social media with a string of pictures and messages to wish him well on his big day — with the hashtag #HappyBirthdayLiamPayne one of the most trending terms on Twitter.

Liam famously had a rumored 16th birthday party where nobody showed up, but that certainly wouldn’t be the case today.

Lots of people posted photos of Liam when he was a young child and a teenager, and commented on how quickly he and his other bandmates seem to have grown up.

Liam was born on 29 August 1993 in the English city of Wolverhampton. He suffered health difficulties as a child and bullying at secondary school but went on to come one of the biggest stars in the world after joining 1D.

He initially auditioned for The X Factor when he was just 14 back in 2008, before returning in 2010 which ultimately led to the band being formed.
