Long-term BFFs Khloe Kardashian and Malika Haqq have been there for each other through a lifetime of highs and the lows.
However, over the weekend, coronavirus concerns kept the two besties apart during a very special moment.
Malika Haqq gives birth to a baby boy
First-time mom Malika gave birth to a baby boy named Ace Flores on Saturday. The 37-year-old actress and her ex-boyfriend, rapper O.T. Genasis, welcomed little Ace amidst the ongoing novel coronavirus crisis.
Malika announced the exciting arrival of her baby boy on Instagram, sharing a cute snap of the new parents clasping the hand of their little son.
Khloe was quick to respond to the post. “My beautiful beautiful nephew!” she commented. “Ace, we have been waiting for you.”
However, current social distancing measures have unfortunately prevented the two friends from celebrating together in person.
A source told PEOPLE magazine: “Khloe has been FaceTiming with Malika and her baby, but she hasn’t seen them in person. With everything going on, the priority is, of course, to keep both Malika and her boy healthy.”
Khloe will no doubt be looking forward to a return to normal, when she can introduce her little girl, 23-month-old True Thompson, to her new playmate.
For now, though, the 35-year-old reality star has been keeping herself and her little daughter safe by staying at home. And in true Kardashian fashion, the mother and daughter duo have been quarantining in style by wearing matching pajamas.
Keeping up with the coronavirus
The Kardashians certainly haven’t been immune to the global health scare, and have been keeping their fans updated about their coronavirus precautions on social media.
Last week, Khloe sent sister Kim Kardashian into a panic simply by coughing during a visit to her Calabasas home. Kim later shared an Instagram video of herself meticulously sanitizing a play makeup palette that Khloe had gifted her daughter.
Earlier this month, the Kardashian family also shared a passage from a 1981 Dean Koontz novel that seemed to foreshadow the pandemic on their respective social media accounts.
Even little North West has been busy preparing for the health crisis. On Saturday, Kim Kardashian posted a video of a fort her six-year-old had built from cardboard boxes. It came complete with a special isolation unit for North’s lookalike Kim and Kanye dolls.
Not all members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan are panicking, however. Kendall Jenner was called out by Italian fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni over the weekend for downplaying the virus and sharing misinformation.
The 24-year-old model had posted a series of infographics to her Instagram, which suggested that most novel coronavirus cases are mild, and the majority of patients recover. Kendall had omitted other key statistics from her post, however, including the global infection figure and death toll.
