LANCO is the only band to perform on tonight’s episode of Dancing With The Stars for country night. The band will perform Born To Love You while Milo Manheim and Witney Carson will dance.
They will be the last couple to dance the couple performances. Later on tonight, the couples will work in groups to perform.
Whitney and Milo will team up with Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess, Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe, and John Schneider and Emma Slater to dance to 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton on the team, Team Hay Now.
LANCO started making headlines back in 2016 and they have continued to grow their fanbase ever since. It all began with a little feature in a Netflix show called The Ranch.
In 2016 when The Ranch was released to Netflix their song, Greatest Love Story, was featured during an emotional scene in episode 9 of the first season.
They were featured on the show because it is cheaper to use up-and-coming artists than get the appropriate licenses for successful artists. But the feature was just what LANCO needed to get attention.
That same year, LANCO released their debut four-song EP, Extended Play.
LANCO is a five-man band. Brandon Lancaster (lead vocals), Chandler Baldwin (bass), Jared Hampton (keyboards, banjo), Tripp Howell (drums), and Eric Steedly (lead guitar) are the current members.
The story of LANCO is interesting. They all come from different small towns across the south. And their sound, an upbeat mix of nostalgia and rebellion, makes them stand out in the country industry.
“We all go through more of the same experiences than we realize, and songwriting is a process of observing those moments,” Lancaster has previously said about his band.
“Our stories have different people, different names, different places, but they all have the same emotions attached to them. It’s not fantasy-related. To me, this album is about glorifying the reality of life.”
Even though they have been around for a few years, it has taken a while to release an album. LANCO’s debut album named Hallelujah Nights was highly anticipated. It was released on January 19, 2018.
Hallelujah Nights takes its title from its final track. It’s a gospel-inspired song that talks about the small-town experiences that the band members have gone through over the years. That seems to be the general theme of the album.
While you may not have heard of them before, Taylor Swift has. She recently revealed that two of their songs, Win You Over and Pick You Up were featured on a playlist she shared in February of 2018. Talk about a powerful moment!
Dancing With The Stars airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
