Tensions have reportedly eased between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton since the birth of the Duchess of Sussex’s second child, Lilibet Diana, earlier in June.
Following recent peace efforts, the two royal wives are on the path to reconciliation, and they are now regularly communicating with each other, a source revealed, according to Us Weekly.
Kate and Meghan have been exchanging text messages, and Kate sent Meghan a gift for her newborn daughter, Lilibet.
“Tensions have eased between Meghan and Kate. Kate even sent Meghan a gift for the baby. They’re in a better place and have exchanged texts since the birth of Lilibet,” the source said.
A second source also confirmed that Meghan and Kate have been communicating lately and that Lilibet’s arrival has helped to heal the rift between them.
“The birth of Lili has brought Kate and Meghan closer together,” the source said. “They’ve bonded over both having daughters and can’t wait for all the cousins to meet.”
Lilibet Diana was born in June
Meghan’s second child and only daughter, Lilibet Diana, was born at 11:40 a.m. on June 4 at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Monsters & Critics reported.
The couple reportedly named their child Lililbet after her great-grandmother, the Queen. Lilibet was the Queen’s childhood nickname derived from her efforts to pronounce her name when she was a child.
Lilibet was also named Diana in honor of her grandmother, who died in a car crash in August 1997 at the age of 36.
Meghan reached out to Kate for ‘secret talks’
The latest news comes after M&C reported earlier in June that the Duchess of Sussex reached out to the Duchess of Cambridge for “secret talks” following the backlash against her husband, Prince Harry.
The backlash was sparked by Harry’s allegations against the Royal Family during multiple media and TV appearances, including his Apple TV+ documentary, The Me You Can’t See.
Meghan was reportedly so worried about the backlash that she reached out to Kate to make peace.
Meghan claimed Kate made her cry during her wedding rehearsal
Meghan and Kate’s relationship reportedly deteriorated soon after they first met. The two ladies reportedly clashed over bridesmaids’ outfits during Meghan’s wedding rehearsal in 2018.
Their relationship deteriorated further after Meghan claimed during her interview with Oprah that the British tabloid media falsely reported that she made Kate cry when they clashed during the wedding rehearsal.
Meghan denied media reports that she made Kate cry. She claimed it was Kate who made her cry.
