Rebel Wilson is a new mom!
The Pitch Perfect and Senior Year star surprised her fans today with the shocking announcement that she welcomed a beautiful baby girl with the help of a surrogate.
“Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate ?” she shared, adding that the process of having a child had been “years in the making.”
Rebel has opened up in the past that she wanted to have children, even taking great lengths to prepare her body to carry her own baby.
In what she called her Year of Health, Rebel used the pandemic to challenge herself to lose weight, partly to make sure she gave her body the best chance possible to become pregnant as she was approaching 40 when she began her journey.
The actress has also shared her struggles with fertility, having explained that she suffers from a condition called polycystic ovary syndrome.
The illness caused her to rapidly gain weight and subsequently have issues with fertility, leading the star to freeze her eggs in the hopes of using them later on, though she found out later that her eggs were not suitable to use.
Following a very public split with Anheuser-Busch heir Jacob Busch in early 2021, Rebel’s future as a mom seemed to hang in the balance as she worked to find her way in her romantic life.
This summer, Rebel had her fans totally taken by surprise when she posted to her social media site that she had fallen in love with a woman, designer Ramona Agruma.
With the pair recently sparking engagement rumors, which Rebel has since denied, it seems that the actress’ personal life might be stabilizing as she has looked happier than ever over the last several months.
Despite looking to be having a blast with her new girlfriend, Rebel still managed to shock her fans as she managed to keep her baby news a complete secret until now.
Rebel Wilson is a ‘proud’ new mom
Taking to her Instagram page to share the thrilling news that she is now a mom, Rebel posted an adorable photo of her newborn baby girl next to her glowing caption.
“I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle!” she wrote while proudly showing off Royce, who was clad in a cozy-looking onesie with unicorn slippers on her tiny feet.
One small, cloth-covered hand covered half of the newborn’s face, though one closed eye and part of her mouth were visible next to the baby’s arm.
“I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are)…” she continued, taking time to give her surrogate a special shout-out.
“Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The BEST gift!! I am ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable. I am learning quickly…much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club ???” she concluded her glowing post.
