Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is engaged! Tim Tebow announced via Instagram on Thursday that he popped the question and the former Miss Universe said yes.
Though Tim and his soon-to-be bride have been dating for some time now, many of the former NFL star’s fans are wanting to learn a bit more about the future Mrs. Tebow.
Who is Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters?
Those who follow the Miss Universe pageant probably already have an idea who Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is, considering she won the title in 2017.
Just prior to winning that title, Nel-Peters also managed to take home the Miss South Africa title in the same year as she is from Sedgefield in the Western Cape.
Demi-Leigh is a bit younger than Tim Tebow at just 23 years old. Her fiance is 31.
She speaks two languages, English and Afrikaans, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from North-West University.
Prior to her Miss Universe win in 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters also modeled a bit for Boss Models and Vision Management in Cape Town, South Africa.

It was during her reign as Miss Universe that Demi-Leigh began dating Tim Tebow, with him revealing how they met during a book tour back in September 2018.
“We actually met through one of our nonprofits called Night to Shine,” Tebow told Kathie Lee and Hoda Kotb on Today. “Her sister has special needs, so we invited them to Night to Shine in South Africa. We kind of met and started talking through that and haven’t stopped.”

Tim Tebow went all out on the engagement ring that he presented to Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters. According to People, it’s a 7.25 carat diamond solitaire that is “internally flawless.”
The engagement ring was chosen especially for Demi-Leigh after Tim had a jeweler fly to Jacksonville prior to the engagement with a selection of high quality diamonds to choose from.
