Many celebrities have performed alongside James Corden in Carpool Karaoke, except for hip-hop star Nicki Minaj.

However, her highly-praised verse from the song Monster was featured in the segment, as it was performed by singing sensation Adele.

Nicki recently got to watch Adele’s performance of her verse and give her thoughts on that, as well as give her humorous impression of the English singer.

Nicki Minaj reacts to Adele’s Monster performance

During her appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden, Nicki Minaj said Adele’s Monster performance on his show “made her day” and “year,” and that she received many calls about the segment.

Corden brought up how Nicki has never appeared in his popular segment Carpool Karaoke, but she was featured heavily in one of them.

That was when singer Adele gave her impression of Nicki’s verse from Monster, a Kanye West rap track featuring Nicki, Jay-Z, and Rick Ross from Ye’s 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. That’s considered Nicki’s all-time best verse by many fans.

Corden replayed Adele delivering part of Nicki’s verse, including, “Now look at what you just saw/This is what you live for…Rahhhhh, I’m a motherf***ing monster!”

Nicki seemed to enjoy the segment as she bounced in her seat while watching the singer’s impression, then gave her thoughts.

“Wait, first of all. First of all, it’s Adele. Second of all, it’s Monster. You guys made such an amazing freaking tag team, by the way. I never got to tell you that. That made my day. My year. I probably got like a thousand phone calls about that one thing,” she told Corden.

From there, Corden asked Nicki about what her impression of Adele would be like. The hip-hop star began speaking with a specific English accent instead of the British accent she sometimes uses, saying she had to transformer herself into a “Black lady living in London.”

“Normally, everybody knows my British accent is sort of like a posh white lady, a rich white lady, right?” Nick said. “But with Adele, I sort of have to transform like you know like she might have used to sell crack, and maybe she used to be like hustling nickels and dimes in the hood, and then like got her big break. That is what I see when I see her, she’s always like, it’s so expressive, right?”

Minaj’s impression only included her talking like Adele, as singing like her would probably be impossible for most individuals, even though Nicki’s done some singing on various songs before.

Minaj talks potential movie with 50 Cent, her new music

Following Nicki’s Adele impression, James Corden praised her acting skills and brought up how she’s been in movies before. Corden wanted to know if Nicki would appear in any movies in the future, saying he heard a rumor about a film with 50 Cent.

“It could be, and it couldn’t be,” she said when asked if the internet rumor was true.

“50 did an interview and said he would like if we were to do some sort of a movie together because they asked him. And I said in one of my interviews recently maybe one is already in talks,” she shared.

Nicki made sure to clarify that she never said “in the works” but said “in talks” when it comes to the potential project.

Nicki’s lent her voice to two movies with Ice Age: Continental Drift in 2012 and The Angry Birds Movie 2 in 2019. However, she appeared in live-action films, including 2014’s The Other Woman and 2016’s Barbershop: The Next Cut.

In the meantime, Nicki has new music out and more on the way. James brought up Nicki’s new single, Do We Have a Problem? The track debuted on streaming platforms on Friday featuring Lil Baby.

A nine-minute music video (NSFW) arrived on YouTube featuring Power actor Joseph Sikora, showing more of Nicki’s acting skills.

“I’m sure you get this often, but when are we going to get a new album? Is it soon?” Corden asked.

Nicki confirmed that it would be soon, sending the crowd and likely her fans worldwide into an excited frenzy for her new music.
