Friday the 13th is here and with it comes a bunch of hilarious and terrifying memes to remind everyone what this day is all about.
Historically, the date is considered to be unlucky with roots tracing back to the Last Supper. What many people remember, though, is the murderous rage that was unleashed via Jason Voorhees in a string of Friday the 13th movies that kept viewers screaming.
Let us begin with the promised Jason Voorhies meme that reads, “Guess what day it is?”
The first Friday the 13th movie came out in 1980 with a sequel following nearly every year after throughout the decade. With a total of 11 movies in the series, it’s safe to say that Friday the 13th is one of the most successful horror franchises in history.
It’s #FridayThe13th! I’m not superstitious, but I love any opportunity to use an Office meme pic.twitter.com/beEy9VBOVr

Those who weren’t superstitious about the date on their calendar before the iconic movie series came out certainly thought twice when seeing Friday the 13th on the calendar after.
There has been quite a bit of debate on whether Friday the 13th really is unlucky or not. Is there really something about the date or do people tend to give in to their superstitions, looking for things to go wrong?
Happy Friday, that also happens to be the 13th! We don’t care what this meme says, you should absolutely be doing all of these things tonight! ? #alwaysturnonthedamnlight pic.twitter.com/Je3ogl1PHp

No matter what, it’s always worth remembering:
Today might be a great day to pay homage to Jason Voorhees’ home.

Of course, Friday the 13th also means it’s Friday and the weekend is coming. How bad could it really be?
Not all Friday the 13th memes are terrifying. Some are cute.
Some of us can certainly agree with this one.
Whether you believe that Friday the 13th is a special day where everyone should be careful or if you’re just out to have some scary fun, we wish everyone a happy day. Just don’t let Jason Voorhees get you…
