What was the name of the kingdom in Tangled? Fans think Disney movie predicted coronavirus outbreak

So it appears Disney might have known about coronavirus and social distancing all along, or at least since 2010 when they released Tangled.

Well, this is the connection that many fans of this remake of the classic Rapunzel story are making.

If you’re unfamiliar with the story, Tangled was Disney’s retelling of 19th Century German fairytale Rapunzel. Mandy Moore, who voices Rapunzel, has magic hair that stops her mother from aging.

Seems like a sweet deal.

Unfortunately, for Rapunzel, Mother Goethel keeps her daughter locked up in a tower so she can remain forever youthful.

Poor Rapunzel’s stuck there for 18-years until the handsome Flynn Rider turns up to save the day.

Rapunzel  in Tangled is isolated from Corona

Now, this is where it gets a bit spooky. The kingdom which poor Rapunzel is isolated from is named none other than Corona.

Therefore, fans are pointing out on Twitter that Rapunzel is quarantined in the tower to keep her away from Corona.

The metaphor is clear folks; we are Rapunzel, and the coronavirus global pandemic is the kingdom.

Perhaps, we all need to wait for our Flynn Rider (voiced by Zachary Levi in Disney’s Tangled) to turn up and save us from Covid-19; fingers crossed he won’t take 18-years to arrive.

Twitter users have been revealing the revelation that the House of Mouse tried to warn us about social distancing ten years ago.

Some users congratulated Disney for their foresight, “well played,” said Karla May Benwell.

Another Twitter user expressed doubt that this could be a coincidence. “Coincidence, I don’t think so,” they said, implying that Disney has been withholding info from us all.

This user suggested the following hashtags to spread the news of the possibility we all have to wait for 18-years for Flynn Rider: #isolationfilmclub #ConspiracyTheories.

Other coronavirus predictions

Disney hasn’t been the only one to be accused of predicting the Covid-19 pandemic; The Simpsons have obviously been flagged due to an old episode that featured flu coming from Japan to infect everyone in Springfield.

Many have suggested that author Dean Koontz predicted the current outbreak in his 1981 novel, titled The Eyes of Darkness. The story includes a biological weapon that many have thought causes similar symptoms to Covid-19.

Many have also credited Sylvia Browne, a self-proclaimed psychic, who 12-years ago released her book End of Days: Predictions and Prophecies About the End of the World, which included a passage that referred to a “pneumonia-like illness” that will spread around the world in 2020.

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West has taken a page out of Rapunzel’s book and quarantined herself in a fort of her own making.

I mean, ‘corona’ means crown. So it’s not really a surprising name for a made up kingdom, is it? (Coronavirus is named for the crown shape the virus has)
