Chicago hip-hop artist Lil Reese was involved in a car chase and shooting on Monday which has left him in grave condition.
A wounded man was reported as being taken away from the scene by another man. The rapper whose real name is Tavares Taylor was reportedly later identified as the man shot during the incident in Illinois.

The incident occurred at an intersection in Country Club Hills, Illinois, according to ABC 7’s report. Taylor was not at the scene on 167th and Pulaski Road when officers responded.
Instead, they reportedly found a vehicle with “fresh blood on the driver’s seat” and on the ground near the driver’s side door. There were witnesses present who said a wounded man had been taken away from the scene by another man.
That led the police to check the hospitals that were near the area. They eventually located the man who was shot at the South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest. Taylor was transferred from there to the Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
The officials there identified the man they were treating as Tavares Taylor and said he was in “critical condition” after suffering a single gunshot wound to the neck.
According to a news report from WGN in Chicago below, the shooter pursued Reese in a car chase and opened fire with a small rifle in the busy intersection. Some of the nearby witnesses reported hearing as many as 12 gunshots and then a car crash.
A number of officers searched nearby parking lots for the suspect. A number of local businesses went on lockdown as the police continued their search in the area. However, witnesses reported that the suspect fled in a white or grey Chevy Malibu with tinted windows and Wisconsin plates.

The police are still investigating the shooting and there have yet to be any arrests made since the incident on Monday.
Lil Durk tweets after the incident
As far as Reese’s condition, his close friend Lil Durk posted to Twitter on Monday night with a message that reads “Reese good.” Fans are hoping that it means good news. However, it’s unknown if Lil Durk had additional information about the rapper’s health.

Lil Reese has been active as a hip-hop artist for the past decade. The 26-year-old Chicago native has released a number of mixtapes including 2019’s Get Back Gang 2, as well as two EPs. His latest was Normal Backwards in 2018. Reese also collaborated on the EP Super Vultures alongside fellow hip-hop star Lil Dark in 2017.
Reese has appeared as a guest on a number of other albums or songs. That included Chief Keef’s I Don’t Like which went as high as No. 73 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2012. Lil Reese has also appeared on songs from Freddie Gibbs, Juelz Santana, Plies, and Fredo Santana.
The news of Reese’s condition has led to plenty of fans on Twitter and other social media sending their thoughts and prayers for the rapper to pull through after the recent shooting.
