Listen: The Chainsmokers “Let You Go A-Trak Remix”

unnamed (4)After first collaborating last November when The Chainsmokers remixed A-Trak’s vocal opus “Push (feat. Andrew Wyatt),” the New York-based beat makers have now reversed production roles with A-Trak, here reworking The Chainsmokers’ “Let You Go (feat. Great Good Fine Ok).”

Since catapulting to fame with their viral sensation “#SELFIE” last year, The Chainsmokers quickly became a household name amongst dance fans the world over. The ‘MTV Artists to Watch’ followed the platinum selling “#SELFIE” with their equally social media-salient release “Kanye feat. sirenXX” which has garnered more than six million views on its official music video.

Tapped for remixes by everybody from Phoenix, Ellie Goulding and The Wanted, to The Killers and Icona Pop, their reworks continually get many lauds and replays. Fans can catch the pair on their three-month global tour spanning the U.S., Indonesia, Portugal and Croatia. Highlighting indie group Great Good Fine Ok’s sweet as honey lyrics give the intro a warm, welcoming feel, then A-Trak transforms the original’s light electro-pop feel by mixing in a throbbing bass-driven drop and a funky synth breakdown atop an echo of the melodic chorus.

Canadian turntablist A-Trak is one of the few dance music legends that has been making incredible mixes for a good long time, a personal favorite has to be his re imagination of German Techno and Electro wunderkind Boy Noize’s “Oh!”. The celebrated Fool’s Gold imprint founder has spent the last two decades at the forefront of the industry’s cross-pollination between hip-hop and electronic music.
After being the youngest Canadian to win the DMC World DJ Championship at age 15, the venerable turntablist went on to become the first to win all three major DJ competition titles (DMC, ITF and Vestax). His resume includes collaborations alongside big name acts like Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Kid Sister, and MSTRKRFT. Captivating the masses while still retaining his underground street cred, the iconic musician has showcased his hip-hop-driven dance hybrid across the world at festival headlining sets and packed out warehouse raves alike.
