Longtime rock groups Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, and Poison will take part in a joint 2020 tour, according to reports.

Three of the biggest rock bands from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s are said to be coming together for a major tour bringing the trio of popular rock bands back into the spotlight as they will give fans more opportunities to enjoy their catalog of hit songs.

Here are more details about what’s coming up for Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, and Poison.

Motley Crue promotional video announces group’s return

They’re back! In epic fashion, a video to announce the return of Motley Crue for a 2020 tour arrived on the band’s official Instagram page.

Backed by the classic Home Sweet Home, hip-hop star Machine Gun Kelly provides a voiceover story about Motley Crue’s big return to the concert scene. The rapper portrayed band member Tommy Lee in the 2019 biographical film The Dirt.

MGK mentions the group ended their 35 years of touring by signing a contract in 2014 to no longer tour. However, their fanbase grew over the years since and longtime fans remained wanting more.

Demands arrived for them to get rid of that contract. It’s 2019, and as MGK says “Well, destruction has never been an issue for Motley Crue.”

From there, the contract bursts into flames along with other items blowing up in the room. Another Crue classic, Kickstart My Heart, pounds as the background music to further sell their return.

The Los Angeles-based group Motley Crue is led by Vince Neil on vocals but was originally founded by drummer Tommy Lee and bass guitarist Nikki Sixx.

Amongst their biggest hits over the years was the aforementioned Home Sweet Home. The recognizable track popped up in a trailer for the third season of Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things.

Dr. Feelgood was their biggest hit, as it reached as high as No. 8 on the US charts. The album of the same name reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s charts. A follow-up song, Without You, went as high as No. 8 on the charts in the United States.

Def Leppard, Poison will also join upcoming tour

Crue will be joined by fellow rock legends Def Leppard and Poison.

Def Leppard originated in Sheffield, England in the late 1970s and went on to achieve massive fame worldwide with a number of albums and hits. Group members since 1992 have included lead vocalist Joe Elliott, bass guitarist Rick Savage, drummer Rick Allen, guitarist Phil Cohen, and Vivian Campbell on guitar/backup vocals.

Their 1987 album Hysteria and 1992 album Adrenalize reached No. 1 on the U.S. and UK charts as well as in several other countries.

Pour Some Sugar on Me reached as high as No. 2 in the states, and 1988’s Love Bites was the group’s first No. 1 hit in the United States. The follow-up Armageddon reached No. 3 overall.

Poison has also achieved plenty of success since their debut more than three decades ago. Led by rocker Bret Michaels, the group has sold over 45 million records around the world.

Their biggest hit is Every Rose Has Its Thorn, which reached No. 1 on the charts. However, the group has nine other songs which charted in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 album charts.

The group’s 1988 album Open Up and Say… Ahh! is five-times Platinum in terms of sales in the United States. In addition, their debut album, Look What the Cat Dragged In, and 1990’s Flesh & Blood have each gone Platinum three times.
