It has only been two weeks since Grammy-nominated producer Busbee passed away after a battle with brain cancer.
However, at the CMA Awards on Wednesday night, the legendary producer was not forgotten.
At the awards, two of country music’s biggest stars made sure to pay tribute to the music producer they worked with.
Busbee produced iconic musical stars like Shakira, P!nk, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, and Maren Morris over their careers. Both Morris and Shelton sent out their condolences to Busbee at the CMA Awards.
Blake Shelton
Blake Shelton won the CMA award for Single of the Year for his song, God’s Country. When he went up to accept the award, he did not forget the producer who helped him over the years.

Blake Shelton dedicated his CMA award win to Busbee in a touching speech. Shelton said that he dedicated the award to both Busbee and Earl Thomas Conley, both of whom passed away this year.
Over his producing career, Busbee (real name: Michael Ryan) produced a number of hit songs, including Florida Georgia Line’s H.O.L.Y., Lady Antebellum’s You Look Good, Rascal Flatts’ Summer Nights, and Maren Morris’ My Church.
That made the next dedication very special.
Maren Morris
After Marren Morris won the CMA award for Album of the Year for Girl, she also paid tribute to Busbee.
“I would be really remiss if I didn’t mention a huge facet of why this album sounds the way it does and we miss him so dearly,” Morris said. “He texted me the morning we got the nomination for album of the year this year — and we were so excited — and that’s our friend Busbee.”
She also spoke of Busbee’s daughters.
“I hope when they listen to this record or any of the songs that he made that made us all better, they know how amazing their father was.”
Busbee’s death
Busbee died in September after his battle with brain cancer. He only received the diagnosis months before his passing and his cause of death was officially glioblastoma.
