Lynne Curtin’s marriage and financial troubles played out on The Real Housewives of Orange County on the fourth and fifth seasons of the show. Back in 2012, Curtin decided it was time to end her marriage, filing for divorce from Frank Curtin, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The two married in 1990.
“I love Frank, but it was time to go out on my own,” Lynne reportedly said back in 2012 when she announced her legal separation from Frank, adding, “Who knows what the future holds, but I’m looking forward to doing the things that I want to do.”
As for Frank, he didn’t want to get divorced, saying at the time, “I’m not a willing participant in this. It hurts to even think about it or talk about it. Call me old-fashioned, but I take my vows very seriously.”
Their financial trouble played out on the show, as their two daughters, Alexa and Raquel, were served with an eviction notice while filming The Real Housewives of Orange County. The two teenagers didn’t know what was going on, as their parents were out at the time.
Lynne admitted that she had no idea that they were struggling financially, that Frank hadn’t been working, and that they hadn’t paid rent on their rental home. Starcasm reports that the couple also owed $1.2 million to former business partners and were even subjects of arrest warrants.
Even though Curtin made money from the show and started her own cuff bracelets company, it wasn’t enough to pay all the bills.
Lynne asked the judge for spousal support when she filed for divorce. She revealed she was broke in 2013 after leaving The Real Housewives of Orange County.
At the time, Lynne Curtin claimed that she had $100 to her name. In court documents, she revealed she only made about $3,000 a year from her jewelry business.
After the split, one of her daughters appeared to take a turn for the worse. While her daughter Raquel became a tattoo-loving pin-up girl on Instagram, her daughter Alexa has struggled.
Over the past few years, Alexa has reportedly been involved with drugs, claimed an officer raped her, and worked in the adult film industry to make money. Last year, she was granted $2.25 million in a lawsuit against Orange County and Deputy Sheriff Nicholas Lee Caropino over the alleged sexual assault that happened in 2014, where Alexa claims she was raped.
This summer, Alexa spent a few days in jail for multiple drug charges. She posted bond and she was due back in court this month. On Monday, a judge issued an arrest warrant for her, as she failed to show up in court.
As for Lynne Curtin’s divorce from her husband, it appears to be unsolved. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Frank never showed up in court to address the divorce filings. In addition, Lynne never made any effort to move the divorce forward.
Even though she filed for divorce over five years ago, they remain legally married. The divorce was thrown out by a judge because neither party was making an effort to get the divorce finalized.
In September 2017, Lynne Curtin told PEOPLE magazine that she had moved on from Frank and she had found love again. Her mystery man appears to like his privacy, as she has not revealed his identity.
