Joe Spano returns to NCIS as Tobias Fornell on the upcoming episode. Having Tobias back on the show should be a welcome addition to the Season 16.

CBS has already released a sneak peek at the episode (shown below), as well as an episode description for how Tobias will return to the program.

“Gibbs’ vacation at his remote cabin is interrupted by a surprise visit from friends and a call from NCIS about a robber hiding in the woods nearby.”

For new viewers of the show, actor Joe Spano returns every now and then as Tobias Fornell, an old friend of Gibbs who ended up marrying his ex-wife. T.C. has already appeared in 50 episodes during the 16-year run of the show.

Don Lake guest stars as Navy Captain Phillip Brooks

In the first of two episodes of NCIS where he appears this season, actor Don Lake will take on the role of Navy Captain Phillip Brooks. His first episode is on October 16, which is called Third Wheel.

Don Lake’s acting career includes guest starring roles on shows like How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, and Bonnie. He was also Stu Hopps in the animated film, Zootopia.

A busy season on NCIS

There has been more cast shuffling at NCIS, as Pauley Perrette and Duane Henry left the show. They had played Abby Sciuto and Clayton Reeves, but those stories came to an end. For now. Replacing Abby in the cast was actress Dinoa Reasonover as new NCIS lab tech Kasie Hines.

It has even led to rumors of Rocky Carroll and Mark Harmon leaving the show. Fans can rest easy, though, as Carroll and Harmon aren’t going anywhere.

Season 16 is just getting started, and the October 16 episode will present some fun moments for fans who keep tuning in to the show each week.

NCIS airs Tuesday nights at 8/7c on CBS.
