Narcos Season 4 is returning as a reset with a new location, cast, and timeline with Narcos: Mexico. The drug cartel drama will move on from Colombia to Mexico starring Michael Pena and Diego Luna in lead roles.
The teaser trailer confirmed the November 16 release date on Netflix.
In the timeline for Narcos: Mexico, Pablo Escobar is still alive as the series chronicles the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s. Pablo Escobar died in 1993 and was still a powerful drug lord in the 1980’s.
Therefore, a guest appearance by Wagner Moura as Pablo Escobar is a possibility as his Medellin Cartel had connections with the Guadalajara Cartel.

Alejandro Edda is set to portray a young El Chapo in Season 4 of Narcos. El Chapo will be an ambitious drug dealer on the rise in his mid-20s — not yet the powerful drug lord that will eventually head the Sinaloa Cartel.
The series will likely continue to chronical the rise of Mexican drug lords eventually getting to El Chapo and the Sinaloa cartel timeline.
Michael Pena is set to portray DEA agent Kiki Camarena, who is referenced in the first season of Narcos.

Netflix renewed Narcos for Season 4 in in 2016. Therefore, it is unclear whether the series has a future beyond Narcos: Mexico at this point. With strong ratings, the series will likely get a renewal for many more seasons.
With a brand-new cast and location, Pedro Pascal will not be returning as Javier Pena. However, future seasons of the Narcos series may return to Colombia.
Narcos: Mexico’s release date is November 16, 2018, and will feature 10 episodes. There are some potential cross-overs or references from the Colombian timeline.
