The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice has spoken out about her conviction and prison sentence for fraud — saying she was ‘mad’ that she became involved.
The 44-year-old tells brother Joe Gorga on this week’s episode of RHONJ: “I was mad that I got stuck with being involved. Yes, I should have made sure everything on those papers was correct before signing them, but nothing was done intentionally. We trusted the wrong people.”
Teresa was filmed speaking out about the conviction earlier this year after serving nearly 12 months of her 15-month sentence for bank, mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud.
The conversation with her brother took place not long before husband Joe Giudice started his 41-month sentence for the crimes earlier this year on March 23.
The couple were allowed to serve their sentences at different times so one of them could be at home to look after their four daughters.
In the footage, Joe asks Teresa how she feels ahead of his incarceration, and she reveals she is worried for his safety, saying: “I think about the fights and stuff; I just feel that guys, right away they lose their temper. I just told him ‘be careful of who you deal with’.”
She then reveals how she was ‘mad’ at getting involved after Joe says he was angry at her husband after the crimes came to light, and asks her if she was “bitter” at him as well.
Joe says: “You know, when all that went down I was kind of mad. I was mad at Joe. It was tough on all of us but then, over time, talking to you, we mended.”
Also on The Real Housewives of New Jersey this week, Siggy Flicker tells Dolores Catania she wants to confront Jacqueline Laurita after the chaos of their trip to Vermont last week.
She tells Dolores: “I’ve been in PJs for four days. I couldn’t get out of bed. I saw a side of Jacqueline that I’ve never seen before.”
She adds: “I think that Jacqueline doesn’t think that we have her back. And that infuriates me.”
Meanwhile, Jacqueline’s husband stuns everyone by revealing some surprising news about his family. Melissa gets some bad news about her boutique, Dolores gets closer to becoming independent and Siggy has a conversation that needs to be had with her family.
