There is something off with Rebecca Pearson (Mandy Moore) on This Is Us. Her son Randall (Sterling K. Brown) noticed his mom was not herself in the most recent episode.
However, when he confronted her, Rebecca was on the defense. The conversation ended badly.

Based on the preview for next week’s episode, it looks like Randall is right to be concerned about Rebecca. She is seen looking lost and confused on the streets of Philadelphia, as Randall frantically calls her cell phone.
In the This Is Us Season 3 finale, fans saw a frail Rebecca in the flash-forward. It is clear based on Randall telling his mother twice that he is her son, she is very ill. She is completely unaware of her surroundings or that Nicky (Griffin Dunne) is sitting by her bedside.
Now it appears mama Pearson may be suffering from Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. Rebecca’s senior moments, as Miguel (Jon Huertas) calls them, are clearly more than forgetfulness.
She was attached to her phone, as though her life would end without out it. When Rebecca couldn’t find her phone at Randall’s office, it was as though she lost her lifeline.

There was no calming her down until it was found. It was a pivotal moment that caused Randall to see something is wrong with his mother.
Rebecca likely has the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s, which is the most common form of dementia. All signs point to the matriarch of the Pearson family being diagnosed with the horrible disease.
The diagnosis will dramatically alter the family forever. Not only will the dynamic between Randall, Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Kevin (Justin Hartley) be changed but it could put The Big 3 even more at odds with Miguel.
They already don’t like the fact their dad’s best friend married their mom. Miguel has never truly felt like a part of the family. Rebecca being sick will no doubt divide them further as they decide who should care for and make decisions for her.
Next week’s episode of This Is Us is the fall finale. It promises questions will be answered. Hopefully, that included what is wrong with Rebecca.
