Where is Whitney Thore from and where is My Big Fat Fabulous Life filmed?

Whitney Thore is back on TLC for My Big Fat Fabulous Season 6 and already there has been plenty to talk about.

With everything going on with Buddy Bell and some of the BGDC (Big Girl Dance Class) there have been other cities featured on the show.

Typically, though, much of what viewers see happens at Whitney Thore’s house or her parents’ house.

Where is My Big Fat Fabulous Life filmed?

The majority of filming for My Big Fat Fabulous Life happens in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is where the Thore family lives and also where Whitney grew up. Most places filmed are very local to Greensboro, except for vacations or other circumstances that require a change of scenery.

Most recently, Whitney Thore went to Washington D.C. to visit Buddy Bell. He was there working through the steps of sobriety and she wanted to support her best friend. It looks like later on this season, Whitney and Todd will also be seen in different cities with the BGDC.

Where was Whitney Thore born?

Greensboro, North Carolina is also where Whitney Thore was born. She has lived there since she was a kid and is working on making things work with building a life there. She still has plenty of dreams to fulfill — including starting a family. But as has been shown on the show, Whitney is determined to be a mom with or without a husband.
