The Whisperers are coming. While comic book fans already know, television viewers are asking who are the Whisperers on The Walking Dead?
More specifically, it is known as the Whisperers army. It is a group that the current survivors are eventually going to come across. There are strong indications and TWD rumors that it is going to happen very soon.
Be careful reading on, because some Walking Dead spoilers are about to get revealed that haven’t been shown on the AMC show just yet. As it is considered a huge storyline in the comics, though, it appears very clear that Rick Grimes is about to meet his toughest opponent.
Who are the Whisperers?
To put it succinctly, the Whisperers are another group of survivors that hide in plain sight. They stalk the world, wearing the flesh of the dead as a camouflage. These flesh suits help the group to not only blend in with their surroundings but to protect themselves from walkers.

During past seasons of The Walking Dead, some of the main characters have used this same strategy to sneak through herds of walkers. Little did they know, that it is an idea that another group of survivors has been using for a while.
The Whisperers on Season 9 of The Walking Dead
The boundary between the territory where the four main groups of survivors live and where the Whisperers are located is quite close. In fact, it’s possible that they are behind the groups of walkers that not only took out the bridge but which has been rumored to kill Rick Grimes a bit later.
The leader of the Whisperers is a woman named Alpha. Samantha Morton plays Alpha.

She is most recognizable as the voice of Ruby on the long-running cartoon, Max & Ruby. Morton is going to become a very important character during TWD Season 9, and the Whisperers are going to force some hard choices to be made about the fate of Negan.
