General Hospital fans know that Margaux’s dad is dead. You remember the bones found inside the walls at Charlie’s were his. It was hard to forget.
Anyway, if that got you to wondering about her mom, you may be in luck. It looks as if Mrs. Marino, aka Margaux’s mom, could be set to pop up in Port Charles!
At least that’s what erstwhile fans are speculating about all over social media. The beautiful and talented Ely Pouget has joined the GH cast as Jeanette. Jeanette, who you ask? If the speculation is correct, her presence signals that Margaux is about to get some family in her new hometown.
Showrunners are keeping a cast iron lid on any and all possible details concerning Jeanette. But, it makes sense for Margaux to inherit a mom at this point.
She’s got a vendetta against Sonny (Maurice Benard) for murdering her dad many eons ago. He was a lawyer for the mob, an ignoble profession that apparently got him killed. Of course, Sonny is no choir boy either.
But the case against him has stalled, and Margaux is going rogue to bring the Dimpled Don to justice. What could be better than to have her grieving widowed mom come to town to tag team Sonny?
Pouget’s rise to fame came via a role on Miami Vice back in the 80’s. Since then, the acclaimed actress has accrued tons of television credits on major prime-time shows such as NCIS, Charmed, The A-Team, L.A. Law, Murder She Wrote, and ER.
Her big screen credits include parts in Faded Memories, Curley Sue, and The Rift.
Some eagle-eyed daytime fans are sure to remember the lovely lady from her time on CBS’s number one soap, The Young and the Restless. In 2009, Pouget played Dr. Laura Braun on Y&R. At the time, she was involved in the mysterious Katherine Chancellor storyline.
Pouget played a psychiatrist trying to decipher the loopiness regarding Katherine and her doppelganger, Marge.
There will be a cadre of soap fans who recognize Pouget from yet another sudser. The accomplished thespian was one of the actors chosen for a 1991 revival of the classic daytime serial, Dark Shadows.
General Hospital airs on weekdays on ABC.
