The View does a lot to promote authors. They have them on the show; they talk about their books, and offer recommendations on what to read.

Recently, Jada Pinkett Smith made the morning talk show rounds to recommend her new book, Worthy.

It caused quite a controversy amongst the co-hosts. Alyssa Farah Griffin especially.

She felt the accusations made by Jada sullied her relationship with Will Smith and caused undue embarrassment. Jada had dropped revelations that her marriage has been over since 2016.

Today, Ana Navarro mentioned Jada again and noted, “Mitt Romney has a new biography coming out.” She then listed why she wanted to read it rather than Jada’s book.

Alyssa is taking the book promotion one step further. She is taking it on as a job away from her job at The View. This time with someone she knows and likes personally.

Alyssa dropped an invitation to her followers

Alyssa invited all her fans, especially if they are in New York City, to an event she is moderating with her good friend Cassidy Hutchinson.

The ladies are promoting Cassidy’s new book, Enough. She is hoping people will show up on October 30.

Cassidy is her good friend from the White House. Before The View, Alyssa was the White House Director of Strategic Communications. It was there that she met Cassidy.

Cassidy was a White House aide who has subsequently written a book. She asked Alyssa to moderate an evening promoting it with her.

Alyssa told her fans on Twitter a fun fact about Cassidy. @Alyssafarah, “Cassidy is also Lebanese. It’s not what made us friends, but it’s what made us realize we are soul sisters.”

Alyssa may enjoy being the moderator rather than the moderated

It was last month, as reported by Monsters and Critics, that The View’s moderator Whoopi Goldberg had to shut down Alyssa when she was not finished speaking.

Alyssa clearly wasn’t done, but Whoopi had to remind her, “Well, unfortunately, it’s only an hour show, so we can’t do that.”

Another time, Alyssa and Sunny Hostin got into a heated debate over political differences. They were talking with then South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley about parental rights.

Their discussion got so heated that the show was sent to commercial. That time Joy Behar had to remind Alyssa that it happens to everyone.

This new event will give her ample time to get out her thoughts, especially since she is the boss and will be among friends. She will decide who needs a time-out if anyone.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
