A new trailer was just released by the network and in it, we can see that Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) and Shadow Moon (Ryan Whittle) are back as a new challenge faces them.
It’s explained that a new group of gods are rising up and the American Gods need to prepare for battle.
Crispin Glover will also return as Mr. World and will be looking for revenge after the attack last season. Bryan Fuller and Michael Green both left as showrunner at the end of Season 1 and were replaced by Jesse Alexander.
He also didn’t last long in the role, with rumors that McShane forced him out, unhappy with the direction of the series as well as the behind-the-scenes- drama.
After losing three showrunners before Season 2 even started, there were worries that American Gods may not even return and if it did, the show wouldn’t be the same as before.
Fans of the series have high hopes for Season 2 of American Gods after both Season 1 showrunners left the series and were replaced, then replaced again.
Just with the release of the new trailer, criticism has lessened and many believe that the newest episodes will be even better than before. Of course, we’ll have to wait for the Season 2 premiere to see if American Gods will grow in popularity among Starz viewers.
