NCIS: LA saw actress Anna Belknap guest star during Sunday night’s episode. CSI: NY fans are quite familiar with her work, as she played the character of Lindsay Monroe for 172 episodes of the hit CBS show.

Having Belknap back on CBS was a fun event for NCIS: Los Angeles fans, many of whom took to social media to exclaim their glee about the appearance. It was also an unexpected role for a lot of long-time viewers.

Below are a handful of the posts that fans put up on social media as Season 11, Episode 9 of the show aired on CBS.

From Lindsay Monroe on CSI: NY to Robin Ip on NCIS: LA

The cold opening from Sunday night was pretty interesting, as viewers were in an apartment in San Francisco when two masked introducers were trying to subdue someone.

It was shortly revealed that they were trying to capture Tech Operator Eric Beale, who is played by Barrett Foa on the show. They were unsuccessful when Eric was able to escape and get himself arrested.

While the NCIS team works quickly to get him back home, led by Operations Manager Henrietta “Hetty” Lange (Linda Hunt) and Intelligence Analyst Nell Jones (Renée Felice Smith) someone else shows up at the precinct to retrieve Eric.

A woman stating that she is NCIS Special Agent Robin Ip (Anna Belknap) has shown up to take Eric from the precinct. It is later discovered that she isn’t who she says she is, though, sending Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) into motion to try to retrieve Eric again.

The point of this episode was to fill in where Eric has been. In reality, the actor who plays him (Boa) has been participating in a presentation of Angels In America, causing him to take time away from the show. Now, he is back.

Having actress Anna Belknap stop by the show, even if it was just for a quick guest-starring appearance was certainly fun, especially for all the CBS viewers who watched CSI: NY for years.

There have been a number of very recognizable people guest-starring on NCIS: LA this season, including Moon Bloodgood, who also made another stop on the show recently. Stay tuned, because someone new will also be stopping by Episode 250 of the show, which airs next Sunday.

NCIS: Los Angeles airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on CBS.
