The CW has released another teaser trailer for its upcoming Arrowverse series Batwoman — and this time the clip focuses on season 1 big bad Alice, played by Rachel Skarsten.
While Alice is only briefly seen, she can be heard throughout the brief teaser claiming that things are “Curioser and curioser and curioser and…”
What is Alice curious about? It seems she’s pondering a newspaper headline asking “Is he back?” as she pours a drink into a teacup.
The “he” in question is Batman. And although we know that it is a sighting of Kate Kane as Batwoman that the papers are reporting on, Alice is none too happy either way. She screams in frustration at the news.

Alice runs the Wonderland Gang, a criminal organization operating in Gotham City that takes its cues from Alice in Wonderland. So, much of what we see and hear in the trailer is a reference to the famous book by Lewis Carroll, including the teacups and the declaration of “Curioser and curioser.”
Obviously, Alice is a little off her rocker and that unpredictability will make her a formidable foe for budding superhero Batwoman in the series’ first season.
Skarsten is no stranger to DC TV. She played Dinah Lance in the 2002-2003 WB series Birds of Prey, a role embodied by Katie Cassidy in the Arrowverse.
It’s a character Skarsten recently told BatwomanTV that she would happily reprise in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover “Crisis on Infinite Earths” if the opportunity came up. Skarsten seemed especially enthusiastic about the possibility if she appeared as the character with her Birds of Prey co-stars Dina Meyer and Ashley Scott.
With Brandon Routh reprising his film role as Superman in the crossover as well as playing Ray Palmer, his character in the Arrowverse, it certainly seems like it could happen.
Batwoman airs on Sundays at 8/7c on The CW. The series premieres on October 6.
