Tonight on Watchmen on HBO, several huge plot twists changed everything that we know about the comic book sequel. One of the biggest involved Bian.
Bian is the “daughter” of Lady Trieu, the trillionaire that is building the Millenium Clock to try to help Hooded Justice Will Reeves stop the Seventh Cavalry from taking over the world.
However, it was learned in this episode that Bian was not who we thought she was.
Bian on Watchmen
For the first six episodes of Watchmen on HBO, most people assumed that Bian was the daughter of Lady Trieu.
Now, it was strange watching the little girl walking around as one of the smartest characters on the show, but now we know why.
Lady Trieu herself is brilliant, graduating from MIT and then buying the entire university a few years later. However, she learned a lot from her own mother.
Yes, Bian is Lady Trieu’s mother.
As Lady Trieu told Angela, she created a clone in Bian and then implemented her mother’s memories into the clone so she could share her success with her mother.
This also brings a lot of questions up about Adrian Veidt, another man who mastered cloning and is currently undergoing a trial for his crimes against humanity.
Who is Jolie Hoang-Rappaport?
While Bian is very brilliant and stoic in Watchmen on HBO, the actress who plays her is much more down-to-earth.
In an interview with Just Jared, actress Jolie Hoang-Rappaport said that her favorite part of the Watchmen in HBO shoot was near a small alpaca farm where she got to pet and feed goats, donkeys, chickens, and pigs.
The 14-year-old actress seems very normal and nothing like Bian from the HBO series.
Before appearing in Watchmen in HBO, Hoang-Rappaport appeared in Just Add Magic and Cousins For Life, but is developing an entirely new fanbase with this new turn.
Watchmen airs on HBO on Sunday nights at 9/8c.
