Netflix renewed Black Mirror for a Season 5 earlier this year in March. However, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch appears to be a feature-length project with a release date, which the trailer calls ‘A Black Mirror Event.’
This led fans to wonder whether Bandersnatch is a prelude to Season 5 of Black Mirror. While it is a full-length feature, Netflix has not described it as a film but rather an event.
It was reported earlier this year that Netflix will release an interactive Black Mirror episode that will be a ‘choose your own adventure’ event.
The trailer certainly eludes to an interactive episode as it instructs to viewers: “change your mind” and “change your life,” and your “past,” “present,” and “future.” The trailer ends with the following “Your fate has been dictated, you’re not in control.”

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch release date is Friday 28th on Netflix and the trailer is set in 1984, where a programmer begins to question reality as he adapts a novel into an adventure video game and soon faces the consequences in a series of challenges.
The young programmer is reading a book by Jerome F Davies, who is called a genius. Jerome F Davies is the author of adventure novel Bandersnatch.
Black Mirror Season 5 does not have an official release date and it is not clear if Bandersnatch is part of the upcoming season.
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch will be released on Friday 28, December on Netflix.
