Love & Hip Hop: New York returns for Season 7 tonight, with Cardi B now a huge star.
The former stripper’s career really took off after she joined the hit VH-1 show in Season 6 and she’s now hit the big-time — with more than 5million fans on Instagram, 350,000 on Twitter and another 2.3million on Facebook.
Watch the clip below of the first seven minutes of Love & Hip Hop Season 7 as she and her sister Hennessy ride in a Bentley and talk about how she’s “poppin'” and how she really shouldn’t stop until she reaches the top.
But fame is not all it’s cracked up to be for Cardi B as she admits: “Sometimes I do miss the hood.”
And she talks about the huge rise in the number of haters she has to deal with after finding success.
She says: “When I was in the hood I had like three haters, and it was cool because I could keep my eyes on them. But now there’s just like a thousand people that hate on me in one day and that just be killing my mental state.”
Hennessy obviously enjoys her sister’s new-found celebrity but is also out to look after her, and tells Cardi B: “You can’t let the haters get to you…because even Jesus got criticized, and he was a good man.”
Cardi B adds: “But that s**t gets me tight. And on top of that I’ve got to worry about my personal life.”
She says later in an interview with producers: “You know this fame is a blessing, but it has also affected my love life with my man.”
The singer’s partner Tommy is still in prison as Season 7 kicks off and Cardi B talks about how he wants her to be “popping babies out” — but that she can’t do that if she wants to get further in her career.
And she questions if it’s worth it for her to wait for him, as he might not turn his life around once he gets out.
She says she wants to wait to have sex with him just one more time so she can really decide whether he’s the right guy for her.
Hennessy laughs as she tells her: “That was a good penis that you got, that you’re going to wait two years just to get it!”
Meanwhile, the start of Love & Hip Hop: New York season 7 also sees DJ Self introduce Rich Dollaz and Cisco Rosado to a new member of the Creep Squad — The Wire’s Felicia ‘Snoop’ Pearson, in the video above.
In the episode, Remy Ma also attempts to get on the same page as Papoose, Yandy finds it difficult to keep the family united with Mendeeces in prison, and Juelz Santana gets set to get back into music.
Oh, and did we forget to mention the drama?
Love & Hip Hop Season 7 premieres tonight, November 21, at 8/7c on VH-1.
