Cartel Crew is the new docu-series coming to VH1 and it’s a must-see. The Big Fish Productions series will follow eight descendants of drug cartel members who live in Miami as they try to make their way in the world, away from dangerous life many of their family members lived.
The series is set to have 10 episodes and will follow the descendants of notorious cartel members including Michael Blanco, who is the son of Griselda Blanco, better known as “Cocaine Grandmother.”
Maria Ramirez De Arellano is in a relationship with Michael Blanco and comes from cartel roots herself. While her father kept his dealings private, there have always been rumors about his alleged illegal activity. Maria’s relationship with Michael has caused her to lose touch with much of her own family but VH1 is already teasing that on Cartel Crew, some of her family secrets will surface and when they do, even Michael will be shocked.
Another familiar face to join the Cartel Crew cast is Kat “Tatu Baby” Flores. VH1 viewers will remember her as Ceaser’s very temporary love interest right after he broke up with Duchess Lattimore. She was also featured on two seasons of Ink Master and also appeared on Ink Master: Angels.
Stephanie Acevedo is also going to be featured on Cartel Crew. Her father was arrested for cocaine trafficking and was sentenced to time in federal prison. Stephanie is trying to overcome her cartel roots and make it as a successful singer.
Nicole and Michael Zavala are twins and grew up rich due to cartel life. None of their family members died or went to prison for their deeds, which has others who have been affected by this subculture wondering if they are even legit.
Carlos “Loz” Oliveros was involved in cartel life directly until a member of his family was allegedly killed by them. That’s when Loz decided to leave it all behind him and work to become successful as a tattoo artist instead.
Wrapping up the eight-member cast of Cartel Crew is Dayana Castellanos, who spent two years in prison for her cartel involvement in a marijuana grow operation. Now that she’s free, Dayana is trying to make up for lost time with her two children and move on from her past.
