The casting changes in soap land keep coming fast and furious with the latest departure being Emmy Award winner Chloe Lanier from General Hospital.
According to Daytime Confidential, Lanier will leave her role as Nelle Benson when her contract is up in order to devote more time to her film career and to focus on prime time gigs.
Lanier is reportedly taping her final scenes this week, with a projected final air date toward the end of next month.
Of course her exit is hot on the heels of Dominic Zamprogna’s departure, which has him breaking Lulu’s heart as he leaves her for a hot WSB mission. Where’s your loyalty to family, Dante?!
The gifted actress was first seen in 2015 in a flashback episode as Patricia Spencer. Fans took an instant liking to the gorgeous and talented thespian and made lots of noise until she joined the show in 2016 in the role of Nelle.
She’s in a front burner story at the moment, having framed her baby daddy’s (we think) mom into a cell at Ferncliff. But there’s a brash new detective determined to bust her for her crime, as well as a ton of people who despise her in general.
Do we smell a whodunit coming up? Is Nelle about to become the subject of a massive murder mystery? Tune in and find out!
We’re going to miss you Chloe, but we wish you nothing but good luck as you embark on your new endeavors!
General Hospital airs weekdays during the day on ABC.
