ABC’s family-friendly ninth annual CMA Country Christmas holiday special airs tonight, featuring a festive extravaganza of big name stars from a host of musical genres.
There’ll be plenty of cowboy hats, but a popular virtuoso violinist and a couple of jazz legends are also on hand to lend their talents.
CMA Country Christmas 2018: Who is hosting and performing?
Country music’s leading lady, Reba McEntire, hosts the special night’s festivities, which is part of ABC’s “25 days of Christmas” holiday schedule.
It’s the legendary diva’s second time hosting the lavish two-hour musical special. Not only are there blockbuster solo performances by today’s biggest stars, there are also plenty of collaborations to tickle your ear buds.
Country favorites Brad Paisley, Dan + Shay, Brett Eldredge, Brett Young, Dustin Lynch, Martina McBride, and Old Dominion all bring the ear candy with Christmas tunes sure to get you smiling, and maybe reaching for a tissue or two.
But sprinkled among the country music fan faves are some other big acts from across the musical stratosphere, including Tony Bennett. No holiday musical celebration is complete without the sounds of the legendary crooner.
Contemporary Christian music artists Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant are also on hand for the merriment as is famed Canadian jazz singer and pianist Diana Krall. Also joining the stellar lineup is electrifying violinist Lindsey Stirling, and the family-infused Southern gospel music group The Isaacs.
But if you thought music was the only entertainment on tap, you’d be wrong! Of course there’s a guest turn by Santa, and your favorite stars are set to be singing against array of beautiful scenic backdrops.
Plus, no self-respecting glitzy holiday television celebration host would be caught dead without a million dress changes, so glorious Reba is guaranteed to keep you entertained and guessing as she switches up the cowboy boots with opulent gowns at the drop of a cowboy hat!
