On Sunday’s Berlin Station on Epix, the episode, titled “The Old Lie” is directed by Bronwen Hughes and sees The Station fold Rafael Torres (Ismael Cruz Córdova) into the mix to track down Daniel Miller’s (Richard Armitage) location bringing him into hostile territory, and to a horrifying discovery.
Ahead of this, our exclusive clip shows a 10 AM meeting between Valerie (Michelle Forbes), April (Keke Palmer) and Kirsch (Leland Orser).
April is on edge. She’s Daniel Miller’s handler and he has not checked in with her on the phone at their appointed time.
She shares her fears and intuition with Valerie and Kirsch that something is wrong and that Daniel is indeed, in big trouble.
Out there somewhere, Torres is embedded deep inside hostile territory, not only getting Sofia to safety while the Russians are cleverly creating red herrings and false narratives to whip the Estonians into a violent rage… but in a recon mission using the last coordinates that The Station has on Miller.
Meanwhile, Kirsh has no issues telling Valerie he disagrees with her assessment and is on high alert and says of the Estonian unrest, “Civil war may be inevitable.”
Interrupting Val and Kirsch, April says, “Something’s wrong, 10 AM no Daniel. He’s never late for a check-in, I have the last known coordinates.” She slides them to Kirsch.
“He’s officially missing,” says Valerie, who is ready to go to the failsafe mode in two hours. Kirsch says that’s too much time to let lapse.
Kirsch says, “We don’t have two hours…in hybrid war, I am telling you… trust me, I have seen these guys, let’s take this to Langley now!”
Not willing to take Kirsch’s advice just yet, Valerie pushes back and says, “There is no room to misread Russia, none at all.”
The Russians are behind all the stunts and violence to whip up the Estonians as a maneuver and a smokescreen to reasonably claim a defense to the watching West as they infiltrate and fight back in a bid to rape the coffers of the small country. Daniel Miller is out there in the fray, somewhere.
Even the waitress who served Henrik his last meal, Maret, is in play this episode.
You will also be introduced to Dorn (James Cromwell) in a scene with Steven Frost (Richard Jenkins). Frost is a veteran of the Cold War who served as the CIA’s Chief of the Berlin Station in Season 1 and is now retired, and back this season as a guest star.
In this episode, Kirsch also visits an old friend Steven Frost (Richard Jenkins). Kirsch meets up with Frost for a drink, and who swears his French chateau is haunted. Meanwhile, Frost is primed for a lucrative private sector gig in Germany and wants to get ‘the band back together,” with Kirsch of course. Who wouldn’t!
But the mystery of where Daniel is and in what state continues, so the #whitetshirtgang must make sure to tune into this amazing #whiteknuckler episode on Sunday night!
Berlin Station airs Sunday, at 9/8c on EPIX.
