Faith Evans has married Stevie J, it has been confirmed. It looks like Bad Boy singer may even be taking Stevie’s last name after he tweeted, calling her “Faith Evans Jordan.”
I love you Faith Renee Jordan
— Stevie J. (@hitmansteviej) July 18, 2018
The shocking announcement, via TMZ, came just hours after the news outlet reported that both Faith and Stevie had applied for a marriage license in Las Vegas on Tuesday. What sources weren’t aware of at the time was that Evans and her husband went on to tie the knot in a private ceremony later that very same night.
Fans who religiously watch Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta might see this as a surprise, seeing that neither one of them ever hinted about the chances of them actually being a couple again. Also because Stevie’s LHHATL storyline last season had him romancing a whole different woman.
Stevie and Faith Evans have shared an on-again, off-again romance for years, having initially met back in the ’90s when the reality star was famously working with the likes of Mariah Carey and The Notorious B.I.G. In fact, Stevie and Faith dating rumors first started not long after The Notorious B.I.G.’s death.
What’s interesting is that just a month ago, according to ex-girlfriend Joseline Herandez, Stevie J messaged her about potentially wanting to tie the knot with her. It sounds like Stevie had marriage on the brain and just needed someone to take him up on the offer.
Joseline posted a screenshot of the message that dates back to June 17. making fans wonder how Faith Evans will feel about allegations that Stevie was trying to tie the knot with his most recent baby mama.
“Happy honey moon,” the self-proclaimed Puerto Rican princess mentioned in her caption to the photo along with several emojis. and the proclamation, “Petty Wednesday.”
Faith Evans marrying Stevie J is particularly interesting seeing that the singer is just days away from releasing her brand new single, titled A Minute, which just so happens to feature her husband in the video.
Are the two really married — as in, really committed to being married? Or is this a publicity stunt to sell records? After all, it wouldn’t be the first time Stevie J pulled a publicity stunt around a supposed marriage.
This time around though, it all looks to be legal. So with that being said, congratulations to Faith Evans and Stevie J.
