Fred Dryer appeared on the latest episode of NCIS. It led to a lot of viewers wanting to know more about him and the role that he played.

For years, Dryer starred as Rick Hunter on the hit show, Hunter. An attempt to bring the show back, with Dryer as the star, didn’t do quite as well. Still, it was a role that television viewers will remember for years to come.

Who is Dred Dryer on NCIS?

The October 23 episode of the show was called Fragments. CBS described the episode as follows.

“After a 50-year-old tape recording left by a murder victim is found, the team tries to exonerate the Marine serving a life sentence for the crime.”

For his role, Fred Dryer plays Marine Master Sergeant Thomas Fletcher on the episode. His role becomes very important later in the episode.

Spoilers from Fragments on NCIS

The episode dealt with a case from years ago, in which NCIS had found the alleged culprit of a crime. Character Ray Jennings was jailed for a crime where Thomas Fletcher (Dryer) claimed he witnessed Jennings running from the scene.

It turned out that this was a lie, and that Jennings had been jailed for no reason. The story brought out the consequences of his actions, so many years ago.

This is one of those compartmentalized episodes of NCIS that might be considered filler by some viewers. It still provided a lot of interesting segments and brought back Fred Dryer to CBS.

NCIS airs Tuesday nights at 8/7c on CBS.
