Ron Donald “Do’s and Don’ts” begin episode 208, where a champagne and cocaine fueled Hollywood party is the setting for the Party Down crew.
It’s all glammy until sneering Joel Munt (Paul Scheer) makes his appearance, to his old writing partner Roman’s chagrin.
“Intellectual Titan” A.F. Gordon Theodore (Dave Gruber Allen) one of Roman’s (Martin Starr) Science fiction author heroes, has hired “f***ing hack” Munt to adapt one of his epochal tomes to the big screen.
But Hollywood has a way of putting everyone in their place, and Lydia (Megan Mullally) learns that powdering her nose has a whole new meaning in a party filled with “Philistines and Jews.”
After a quick tutorial in “Othello,” Kyle (Ryan Hansen) helps Roman plan “Iago” style revenge against Munt, and Henry (Adam Scott) and Casey (Lizzy Caplan) have accidentally locked their keys in a van, and “Party Down” writers outline the differences between men and women’s problem solving strategies in a clever scene that stretches through most of the episode.
