General Hospital spoilers: Sonny must deal with Mike

General Hospital spoilers for the Thursday July 12, 2018 episode of ABC’s soap reveal that certain storylines are drawing to inevitable, in some cases, sad endings.

This week Mike (Max Gail) had a setback. His Alzheimer’s had him in a confused and agitated condition, and his nurse had to call Sonny (Maurice Benard) for guidance. Stella (Vernee Watson) has repeatedly warned Sonny that the condition is a terrible monster capable of upending lives in an instant.

Spoilers reveal that on Thursday Sonny begins a process of helping Mike “prepare.” Is this the beginning of the end? Selfishly, we hope not. Max Gail has been a joy to watch, his range of emotions running from exuberance to confusion to despair on a dime.

But story wise, the arc appears to be winding down. Sonny now knows that Mike concealed the dead body at Julian’s (William deVry) coffeehouse. Along with Stella’s foreshadowing, Milo’s teary admission of his own mom’s battle with Alzheimer’s, and Mike’s need for constant care, viewers may have to say goodbye to Mike, and Max Gail, before we are ready to.

Speaking of Stella, she and Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) have a heart to heart. As much as these two can! As her wedding to Curtis (Donnell Turner) nears, Jordan does the right thing and solicits Aunt Stella’s thoughts and feelings.

Meanwhile, Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) becomes suspicious. Certain things about Nina (Michelle Stafford) and her story do not match up: He was a super spy after all! What will he do if he discovers her role in harming his beloved Peter (Wes Ramsey)? Tune in and find out!
