Hyundai is “surprising millions” with its Super Bowl commercial for 2018 — with an ad not shown to the public before the big game.
Last year the automobile firm surprised three heroes at the U.S. Military Base in Zagan, Poland, by letting them watch the game on 360° screens hooked up to live video feeds, which made them feel as if they were next to their loved ones inside the stadium.

This year Hyundai teased 2018 Super Bowl viewers before the big day with teasers. One showed three soldiers silhouetted against the sky, with a caption reading: “Last Super Bowl we surprised three heroes. This year we’ll surprise millions. And you might be one of them. See how during Super Bowl LII.”
A second teaser showed people reacting to news of the surprise, with a caption which started off like the one above. It then went on: “And while we can’t show you what we’re doing yet, we can show you how people will react. We can’t wait to reveal it all Super Bowl LII 2018.”
On the screen one woman told how the news was giving her goosebumps on her arm, while another man simply smiled and said “wow”. A separate woman says: “It makes you feel wonderful,” while a second man adds: “I think that’s fantastic.”
The advert ends: “See it for yourself. 4th quarter of the Super Bowl.”

Last year’s Super Bowl offering from Hyundai was a massive success for the firm, with the video being watch more than 26 million times on YouTube alone. Whether this year’s version will be as successful remains to be seen.
