Aquaman star Jason Momoa is the host for Saturday Night Live this week. The dramatic actor is going to bring the NBC audience a lot of comedy on Saturday night.
Ahead of the release of his movie Aquaman, Momoa is really getting himself out there. For most of the week, NBC has been airing advertisements for the new episode of SNL, teasing viewers about why they should tune in.
The video below is an example of one of the SNL sneak peeks that shows Momoa answering phones and making his audience laugh.
Who is Jason Momoa from SNL?
Aquaman advertisements are everywhere, letting people know who Jason Momoa is before he even takes the stage at SNL. Before this film, he also appeared as the character Arthur Curry in Justice League, as he helped Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.
Momoa co-starred as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones for ten impactful episodes. It was an important role on the show and it may be the main way that many people got to know him in pop culture. That’s not where he got his start, though.
Jason Momoa appeared on 44 episodes of Baywatch as Jason Ioane, co-starred on North Shore for 21 episodes, and was then Ronon Dex for 78 episodes of Stargate: Atlantis.

Most of Momoa’s roles have had a dramatic flair to them. At times, he has been able to show his comedic side with scenes as Arthur Curry, but the new episode of SNL should really let him shine.
Jason Momoa hosts the latest episode of Saturday Night Live and the music guest is Mumford and Sons. Then, Matt Damon will host the fall finale of SNL, with musical guest Miley Cyrus the following week.
SNL airs Saturday nights at 11:30/10:30c on NBC.
