UPDATE: The Life in Pieces Season 4 premiere date has been confirmed for April 18, 2019.
Life in Pieces is returning for a fourth season. On May 12, CBS renewed the series for a fourth season, revealing that Greg Short, Jen Short, John, Jon, Heather Hughes, and the rest of the gang are returning to CBS.
Now, the question is when. While CBS has yet to reveal when the show is returning, it’s possible the show will come back in November or December. Season one of the show premiered on September 21, 2015, while the second season returned on October 27, 2016.
Season three was pushed to November 2, 2017, but it was only about a week later than the second season. If the show is slightly delayed, the season may not begin until December, but a November 2018 release date seems more likely given the previous premiere pattern.
Since CBS hasn’t announced anything in regards to the new season, fans can expect all the fan favorites to return, including Betsy Brandt, Colin Hanks, Thomas Sadoski, Angelique Cabral, Dianne Wiest, and Zoe Lister-Jones.
Life in Pieces focuses on members of a sprawling family whose lives play out in four short stories every week. The family comedy focuses on three generations of the Short family, living in Los Angeles County.
On Instagram, it appears that the cast is back at work. Just this week, they celebrated Spirit Day and they all wore purple to take a stand against bullying.
The cast also encouraged fans of Life in Pieces to share their photos of them wearing purple to advocate against bullying.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Zoe Lister-Jones, who plays Jen, had written a new comedy called Woman Up. The show is about two former teen moms who have dedicated their lives to their daughters and getting them through life up until high school.
Now, at the age of 37, they are ready to reclaim their youth as their children become adults. ABC has reportedly given a commitment to the pilot of the show. Needless to say, Lister-Jones is a busy woman.
Life in Pieces is expected to return to CBS later this year, most likely in November.
