Film star, party girl, Hollywood trainwreck…pick your version of redheaded siren Lindsay Lohan, the bad girl from Long Island is back on TV. She went from childhood star to becoming a regular in feature in the tabloids for her purported drug and alcohol abuse.
The girl has done her time away from the spotlight and now one of Hollywood’s biggest production companies, Bunim/Murray, has vested in Lohan for a new MTV series.
Today it was announced that Lohan Beach Club (working title) with Lindsay Lohan is slated to premiere in 2019, with shooting having started this week in Mykonos, Greece.
The docuseries is executive produced by Lohan in partnership with MTV and Bunim/Murray Productions.
What to expect
The doings of an intrepid Lohan who has lived abroad for years are what will be filmed.
Now an entrepreneur in a slightly similar vein as Paris Hilton, whose empire is vast in foreign countries, Lohan is all about the Lohan brand, licensing her name to a club in Athens.
Out of that project and now immersed in a new one in Greece, according to news reports, her business partners are “opting to remain silent.”
This new investment is the Mykonos club, a music pumping place that draws the monied set in Europe and the Arab world. Her star is rising as Lohan club is scheduled to open another club in Dubai. Lohan Beach House marks the star’s third business venture in the Greek Islands, following the opening of Lohan Nightclub in Athens, Greece and Lohan Beach House Rhodes in Rhodes, Greece.
Interestingly, the less heard from the daughter of POTUS Donald Trump, Tiffany Trump, often the butt of jokes by many a late night host is a pal of Lohan’s and is a frequent guest on yachts and parties at the clubs Lohan is spinning out.
The Instagram feeds are now cleaned up of her photos but there are snaps of the two grabbed online before the scrub which are posted everywhere.
Lohan went from teenage star in Mean Girls to Samantha Ronson’s plus one who has achieved record-breaking success as an actress, singer, and now entrepreneur. Now she works to expand her business empire with the launch of Lohan Beach House.
The exclusive destination is the backdrop for the series. Think lifestyles of the rich, young and famous as “luxury spa amenities, a renowned restaurant and a transformative day and nightclub poised to redefine the Mykonos experience” are what producers promise.
What is not easily discovered is who bankrolled Lohan and her “team of handpicked brand ambassadors to make her mark on the vacation capital of the world.”
“Lohan Beach Club (WT) offers viewers VIP access to one of the most exclusive destinations in the world, and a behind the scenes look at how a young, successful entrepreneur runs her empire,” said Nina Diaz, President, Programming and Development for MTV in a press statement. “We are thrilled to have such a passionate and creative partner in Lindsay to help explore this intriguing culture, all through the eyes of her brand.”
What remains to be seen is if the party life will rub off the wrong way on a young woman whose battled with various addictions are postscripts in celebrity history.
