Model and new Love and Hip Hop Hollywood star Slick Woods is going through chemotherapy. The 23-year-old posted a picture of herself and others enjoying life on Instagram, with the caption, “How I feel about chemotherapy, shout out to everyone that gotta go through it #atleastimalreadybald.”
The Shaderoom posted that Slick is battling stage 3 melanoma (skin cancer) and that the cancer is spreading. Slick reportedly said that “she is fighting for her life.”
A lot of people have offered Slick their support since her revelation. Taraji P Henson said, “You are already on the other side of this heathy and strong like it never happened. I adore you.”
Slick posted a subsequent post saying that she is not a victim. She said, “Stop treating me like a victim.”
Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that can spread to other organs in the body. It is usually first noticed by a new mole or a pre-existing one that changes in shape, size, or color, becomes itchy, or bleeds. According to NHS, melanoma is the fifth most common skin cancer in the UK.
Stage 3 cancer normally means the cancer is larger and may have started to spread into surrounding tissues and there are cancer cells in the lymph nodes in the area.
Slick Woods is a model famous for her bald head, gapped teeth, and tattoos. She rose to stardom as a model for Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty campaign.
Woods has walked in several of the Fenty shows and has been the face of many of her campaigns. In 2018, Slick walked in Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty show just hours before she gave birth to her son Saphir.
Our prayers are with Slick at this difficult time. You can see her on Love and Hip Hop Hollywood on Mondays at 8/7c on VH1.
