All eyes are on Luke Cuccurullo and Kate Sisk on Season 8 of Married at First Sight. Ever since the moment they met (at the altar), Luke and Kate seem to have been on a downward spiral toward disaster…or divorce.
We are just weeks into the new season, and MAFS viewers are obviously keen to know if Luke and Kate are still together. So are they?
The answer to that is, nobody knows for sure yet. In recent seasons of Married at First Sight, those participating in the unconventional marriages have been tasked with keeping everything about their lives private.
So in the case of Luke and Kate, while they are on social media their accounts are private.
A public records search didn’t pull up any proof that Luke and Kate have divorced. However, in most cases on Married at First Sight, couples who choose to separate usually wait until the season is over to make it official.
While Luke and Kate seemed to be doomed as a couple from the few episodes we’ve seen so far, that doesn’t necessarily mean their relationship won’t work or that Luke won’t develop feelings for Kate.
It really could still happen! A great example would be Shawniece and Jephte from Season 6. When they first met, Jephte wasn’t into her either but now, they are still married and just welcomed their first child back in August.
That’s not to say there weren’t plenty of bumps along the way, but as far as Season 8 of Married at First Sight is concerned, the footage fans are watching right now is still from the first week of their marriages and a lot can change as the season progresses.
Some fans have been questioning Luke’s sexuality after saying that kissing Kate “repulsed” him. That doesn’t seem to be the case at all, though, and while Luke looked like a huge jerk for telling Kate how he really felt, he’s also been pretty open about it all.
On the MAFS aftershow last week, when asked about his relationship with Kate, Luke even said that he was “still hopeful.” We’re hoping that’s a clue that he eventually comes around because we all know that Kate is beautiful inside and out.
Kate may not be Luke’s type, but even the experts think that can be overcome. Then again, they said that last season when they matched Amber and Dave despite Dave’s affection for brunettes and we all saw how that went.
In any case, we’re still cheering for a happy ending for these two and since there’s no divorce filed yet, there is still hope.
Married at First Sight airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c on Lifetime.
