Maggie Carrie joined her man Maino for Season 9 of Love & Hip Hop: New York and fans have been getting to know her over the last few weeks. Maggie is a model and has been dating Maino for a while now but beyond the shooting that keeps coming up, who is she?
Maggie survived the Troy Ave shooting
One of the main things we’ve learned about Maggie is that she was hit by gunfire and survived the Troy Ave shooting at NY’s Irving Plaza while she was backstage at the T.I concert.
It all happened while Maino was onstage with Uncle Murda, as they worked the crowd before T.I. came out That shooting affected Maggie quite a bit and that’s something she’s still working to overcome.
Maggie was shot in the left leg during the incident that happened on the third-floor green room as the concert went on.
On the latest episode of LHHNY, Maggie opens up to Yandy about the shooting and how it still messes with her mentally. She’s working to overcome her fears so she can go to concerts and other events without worrying but it’s just not that easy.
While Maino wants her to get over it and stop living in fear, who can put a time frame on overcoming a trauma like that? After all, the incident only happened a couple of years ago an to Maggie, those memories are still very fresh.
Maino’s girlfriend turns heads on Wild ‘N Out
Even though the shooting seems like all Maggie has talked about on her Love & Hip Hop debut, it turns out that there’s a lot more to her. For instance, Maino’s girlfriend is a model and she’s known for appearing on MTV’s Wild ‘N Out.

That’s not Maggie’s only acting credit either. On IMDB, listed as Maggie Carrie Heckstall, she is credited with an episode of MTV’s True Life called “I’ve Been Shot” detailing the Troy Ave shooting and her injury. Did you know she still has that bullet in her leg?
Maggie has overcome more than just the shooting
Maggie Carrie has overcome quite a bit in her life. According to 2 Paragraphs, Maggie, who is 28 years old now, lost her mother when she was just nine years old. She died in a car accident and Maggie was placed in foster care.
Over the years, Maggie helped care for her younger brother Julius, who is diabetic, lost his vision and is wheelchair-bound. He was also seen on the latest episode of Love & Hip Hop: New York.

Despite all of the obstacles facing Maggie throughout her life, she has still managed to find success in love and in life. She met Maino when he was signed to the record label where she worked and while they started out as friends, Maggie and Maino have been dating for quite some time.
She’s also very business savvy and owns a salon in Newark called Hair Like Maggie. She’s also working to launch a singing career, which is a huge reason why she needs to overcome her fear of crowds.
