Tonight sees the start of the second half of Legends Of Tomorrow’s third season, filling in for Supergirl which is on a short break.
When we last saw the chaotic band of heroes we were saddened by the death of Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson Jackson aka Firestorm (Franz Drameh). Both were founding members of the team and were often an essential ingredient in the team’s various plans when taking on super-villains.
It’s not all doom and gloom though. The team has seen a few new additions in the third season. Making an immediate positive impact with fans is Zari Tomaz who has an interesting connection with Vixen and has provided the show with some interesting moments, especially when it comes to bending the rules of time travel.
The third season arc has involved the team trying to fix the time-line by repairing various anachronisms that are popping up throughout time. Thus far we’ve seen Julius Caesar turning up on a beach in Aruba and a 1980s Beebo toy being held up as a Norse God by a Viking settlement in the New World.
Hindering the Legends in their mission has been the authoritative Time Bureau, who have been somewhat quiet in recent episodes. Going all out to prevent the Legends from fixing time is the nefarious Damian Darhk and his daughter Nora whose use of magic has thus far proved too much of a challenge for The Legends.
Tonight’s episode, which is titled Daddy Darhkest will see the team joined by John Constantine from the sadly cancelled Constantine TV series, which aired on NBC a few years back.
Matt Ryan will be reprising Constantine for two episodes of Legends, which sees him seeking their help in a present-day psychiatric hospital. As fans already know, Constantine has a fair few supernatural abilities of his own which never got fully explored in the Constantine television series, so it will be interesting to see how things turn out for him in this two-part episode of Legends.
If all that isn’t enough, we’ll also get to see Kid Flash aka Wally West joining the Legends team for a spell.
Originally from The Flash television series, Wally left Central City a few episodes back and hasn’t really played a huge role in the fourth season of The Flash. From what we have been hearing, Kid Flash will join the Legends for a period of time and then return to The Flash series later in the season.
Kid Flash joining the Legends poses all sorts of interesting possibilities. Could we see him and the Legends team go up against another speedster? Or do the writers have something more unexpected in mind?
Legends Of Tomorrow airs in a new slot on Monday nights at 8/7c on The CW.
