Pop It Pal will pitch their product to the sharks on Sunday’s episode of Shark Tank – and the product is as odd as it sounds. On the company’s website, they admit that they love to pick. Yes, they mean pimples, blackheads, and so forth.
And that desire to pop things and watch the result was the passion behind Pop It Pal. The product is a novelty pimple popping toy that will have you squeezing and popping.
The couple behind the product is Billy and Summer Pierce. They explain that they came upon the idea when they were driving, imagining a product where they could just pop pimples without doing it on their faces. What if they wanted to pop something, but didn’t have anything to pop?
That’s when Pop It Pal came to be. And while it sounds gross, the sharks may like the idea, given the recent movement for products that help reduce stress.
The product is created using silicone. It measures 4 inches by 3 inches and comes in two flesh tones, peach or brown. In the silicone brick, you’ll find 16 small holes filled with yellow pus you can squeeze. Plus, it actually feels like the real thing, making the pimple popping experience rewarding.
One of the reasons why Pop It Pal may get the sharks’ attention is the focus on giving back. The founders’ daughter decided to start a charity, Kidz Against Bullying, a movement meant to spread awareness about bullying among kids. A portion of every sale goes to the charity to spread the message of kindness and to help end bullying.
You can buy Pop It Pal on Amazon or on the company’s website. The Pop It Pal costs $19.99 regardless of color and the refill costs $5.99. You can also get a three-pack of the refill mix for $12.99 on sale, currently down from $17.97.
Shark Tank airs Sundays at 9/8c on ABC.
