The fourth season of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days premiered just over a week ago and brought a whole new cast of characters.
One of the new cast members is Geoffrey Paschel, a single father from Tennessee. Geoffrey is dating Varya, a Russian radio host, and the show will follow the couple as they get to know each other in person after an online romance.
Geoffrey is in legal trouble
Geoffrey has a long history of legal trouble. Most recently, Geoffrey was accused of domestic abuse by a former girlfriend. He was arrested last June and charged with aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, interference with an emergency call, and vandalism.
The details of the alleged attack are disturbing. Geoffrey’s ex says that he dragged her by the hair and left her bloody, claims that Geoffrey denies.
However, that’s not Geoffrey’s only encounter with the law. On Sunday’s show, Geoffrey talked about “his past,” which included 30 months in prison for dealing drugs. That prison sentence was in 2001, however he has also faced much more recent allegations. In 2018, Geoffrey’s ex filed a Motion for Protective order that accused Geoffrey of using his children as drug mules.
“Father should not have co-parenting time with the parties’ son because he is a danger to the child due to his practice of selling opiate medication and historic involvement of his children as a ‘cover’ or ‘mule’ in his illegal activities,” the document stated.
Aside from the more disturbing claims, Geoffrey has a history of less violent crimes. In 2013, he was arrested and charged with felony larceny/theft for trying to steal lights from Home Depot. He eventually pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft for that incident and served 11 months and 20 days of supervised probation.
He was charged yet again with petty theft in 2014, though the details of that incident are unclear.
Many domestic abuse claims and backlash from fans
Varya has lots of reasons to run. Geoffrey has a total of four ex-wives, at least one of whom has accused him of rape. Three have accused him of various forms of domestic violence.
One ex claims that Geoffrey locked her in a hotel room when she was in labor, forcing her to give birth alone and without medical help.
Needless to say, the allegations have been horrifying to 90 Day fans. Some prominent viewers — including the podcasters of 90 Day Cray Cray and 90 Day Gays — have decided to completely skip over any content relating to Geoffrey.
Fans have now also started circulating a change.org petition to have Geoffrey removed from the show. At the time of writing, the petition has 1427 signatures of its 1500 goal.
TLC has yet to respond to any of the allegations, but fans hope that the petition will force some kind of action.
90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days airs Sundays at 8/7c on TLC.
