90 Day Fiance star Jovi Dufren is standing firm in a statement he made that he and his wife Yara Zaya wouldn’t have stayed together if not for their daughter, Mylah.

American-born Jovi and his Ukrainian-born wife Yara were introduced to 90 Day Fiance viewers during Season 8 of the flagship series.

Despite plenty of ups and downs in their relationship, the couple wed on Valentine’s Day in 2020. Yara was pregnant when they wed and she and Jovi welcomed their first child, Mylah, later that year in September.

Although Jovi and Yara appear to be living a happily married life these days, Jovi recently admitted that if it weren’t for Mylah’s birth, he and Yara may not even be together today.

The New Orleans native recently answered some fan questions during an Instagram Stories Q&A and disclosed that he stands by a former statement he made about Mylah being the glue that’s held his and Yara’s marriage together.

One of Jovi’s 350,000 Instagram followers asked him, “Do you regret some [of] the things you say on Tv like if you didn’t have your daughter you would be [divorced]?”

Jovi, who recently celebrated his birthday, touched on the same topic earlier this year when, during a different Instagram Stories Q&A, he tackled a similar question from a curious fan who asked him, “But do you think that if Yara wasn’t pregnant you would have still gotten married?”

Jovi previously told 90 Day Fiance fans that Mylah ‘pulled’ him and Yara together

Jovi explained, “Honestly, I’ve thought about that a lot. I think more likely that we wouldn’t have stayed together. The beginning of our marriage was very hard but Mylah pulled us together. But I think we would have still gotten married anyway,” adding, “But so happy to have this little angel.”

Mylah is often spotted with her photogenic parents during their frequent travels and has definitely enriched their lives. Jovi has traded his bachelor life for fatherhood and it suits him well.

Last month, Jovi admitted that the one thing he has come to love the most about being a girl dad is his role as Mylah’s dad. When asked by a fan what surprised him most about being a girl dad, he answered, “How much I love being a girl dad.”

Season 7 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? premieres on Sunday, August 28 at 8/7c on TLC.
